The state pension system of the Republic of Armenia has two components: social pension (benefit) and labor pension.
The social pension (state benefit) is a pension at a fixed rate, which is not based on the payments made. It is funded from the state budget and its main task is to provide the minimum wage to the pensioner who does not have the required work experience.
Labour pension is an age-based pension based on payments, the amount of which, however, is not directly conditioned by the payments made by a person in working age, but is conditioned by years of work experience.
A foreign citizen has the right to a pension during the period of his\her residence in the Republic of Armenia. A foreign citizen without refugee status in the Republic of Armenia has the right to a pension if he/she does not receive a pension from the country of which he/she is a citizen of.
The dual citizen of the Republic of Armenia has the right to a pension during the period when he/she is officially registered in the State Register of Population of RA.
